Whip up these easy homemade nachos with ground beef for a quick, delicious snack or meal. Packed with flavor and customizable toppings!

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  • ½ lb ground beef (226 grams)
  • 13 oz tortilla chips (368 grams)
  • 16 oz salsa con queso (Mission brand preferred) (453 grams)
  • 3 tomatoes, cubed
  • 2 large avocados, cubed
  • Green onion, chopped (as desired)
  • 8 oz refried beans (227 grams)
  • 12 teaspoons taco seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black olives, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  • Layer the Ground Beef: Start by evenly sprinkling the cooked ground beef over the warm tortilla chips.
  • Add Refried Beans: In a small pan, heat the refried beans on medium heat. Add a few tablespoons of water to loosen them up. Once they start bubbling, they’re ready. Spoon the beans over the chips and beef.
  • Drizzle the Salsa con Queso: In another small pan, gently heat the salsa con queso on low for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once it’s hot, drizzle it generously over the nachos.
  • Add Fresh Toppings: Now for the fresh ingredients—scatter cubed tomatoes, avocados, and chopped green onions over the nachos. If you’re a fan of olives, you can also add a handful of sliced black olives at this stage.

Serving and Presentation Tips

For a stunning presentation, serve the nachos on a large, flat platter. Layer the toppings thoughtfully so that each bite has a little of everything—crunchy chips, seasoned beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. You can also arrange small bowls of extra toppings like sour cream, jalapeños, or cilantro on the side for guests to customize their plates. If you’re serving this at a party, consider adding colorful plates or a tray lined with parchment paper to make it easy to transfer and serve.
